I was looking for a way to explain the sort of work I do in a concise, immediate way that people would remember when they saw my business cards… I thought of the adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. That is certainly the case in my profession as a decorative artist and faux finisher. I chose several photographs from my portfolio and wrote the usual information (name, number,etc.) as well as some of the specialized skills I offer. I sent all this to Susana via email.
In a very sort time I had received some really well designed samples to peruse. Susana had chosen the best photographs for the format, cropped them appropriately, and on the reverse, aesthetically arranged the text superimposed upon a sinuous flourish in half tone. It is the best looking card I have ever had and I get continuous compliments on both the cards and the design and execution of my work represented there in full color. People finally “get” what it is I do just from my card!
